Scott Spoolman is the author of Wisconsin State Parks: Extraordinary Stories of Geology and Natural History and Wisconsin Rocks!: A Guide to Geologic Sites in the Badger State. Born and raised in northern Wisconsin, he earned a master’s degree in science journalism from the University of Minnesota and worked for several years as an editor in the publishing industry, specializing in textbooks and other educational materials. Since 1996, he has worked as a freelance writer and editor,
focusing on environmental science and natural history stories of Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest.
