Ambalila Hemsell

Ambalila Hemsell is the author of the poetry collection Queen in Blue (University of Wisconsin Press, 2020.)  She holds an MFA from the University of Michigan and is a former Writer in Residence at InsideOut Literary Arts in Detroit. She is a recipient of the Kundiman Sewanee Fellowship and a Pushcart nominee. Her poetry can be found in Fairytale Review, Columbia Journal, The American Literary Review, and elsewhere. Originally from Colorado, she now lives in Tacoma, WA, with her family.
