Peter Miller is one of the few contemporary practitioners of photogravure etching and has published 300 editions, in a semi-abstract style combining the 500-year European intaglio tradition with Zen minimalist aesthetics. Since 1991 when he founded his workshop in Japan, these prints have been exhibited in more than 30 venues around the world, including the Cosmos Club in Washington DC, the Charles X Pavillon in St-Cyr-sur-Loire, France, the Palazzo dei Consoli in Gubbio, Italy, the Russian State Museum in St Petersburg, and the Yokohama Art Museum, among many others. His 2012 book Clairvoyant accompanied the exhibit in St-Cyr-sur-Loire. Peter Miller's prints are collected by the Kamakura Museum of Modern Art, Sackler Gallery of the Smithsonian, National Museum of American Art, Fine Arts Museum of Houston, Gilkey Center for Graphic Art, Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Musée des Beaux-Arts de Tours, Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica, Rome, Victoria and Albert Museum, Musée Jenisch, and by many private individuals and organizations. He lives in Kamakura, Japan.
