2019 UW Poetry MFA Graduates Reading
Presented in partnership with the UW Program in Creative Writing, a reading from the graduating MFA cohort in poetry. This event will feature the work of Rebecca Bedell, Christopher Greggs, Rebekah Hewitt, Wes Holtermann, Mishka Ligot, and Alexis Sears.
Doors will open for this event at 6:30 PM. The event is free and open to the public. Seating will be by general admission.
Rebecca Bedell
Rebecca Bedell is a trans poet living in Madison, Wisconsin. Her writing has appeared or is forthcoming in Vetch, Salt Hill, Grist, Barely South Review, Ponder Review, and elsewhere, and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
Christopher Greggs
Christopher J. Greggs is a poet, designer, and recording artist living in Madison, Wisconsin. He is a Callaloo and Watering Hole fellow and was the recipient of the Goodman Poetry prize from the City College of New York. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in publications such as TriQuarterly, Winter Tangerine, Texas Review, and Great Weather for MEDIA, among others.
Rebekah Denison Hewitt
Rebekah Denison Hewitt holds the Martha Meier Renk Distinguished Graduate Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Narrative Magazine, Gulf Stream, The Pinch, and the Asheville Poetry Review, among others.
Wes Holtermann
Kabel Mishka Ligot
Kabel Mishka Ligot was born and raised in and around Metro Manila in the Philippines. Mishka has work published in Cha, Akda: The Asian Journal for Literature, Culture, and Performance, and CNN Philippines. He lives in Madison, Wisconsin, where he lives in a constant state of wonder and abject horror at the climate.
Alexis Sears
Alexis Sears is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University. Her work has appeared in the Hopkins Review, Able Muse, [PANK], the Texas Review, Passages North, and elsewhere. She is originally from Palos, Verdes, California.
